  1. I don’t support how Hollywood is snatching Japanese games and anime epics and turning them into crappy movies just for profit and cash, and the biggest mistake is Japan’s for wanting the cash more than Hollywood, they are the ones who are giving them the green light just for the cash.

Look at how Silent Team the developers of the grand horror game Silent Hill gave their franchise to some American game developers who drowned the game with American flags and turned the game upside down. Look at how they murdered Astro Boy, Speed Racer and other anime legends wiping their Japanese identity clean, and even Dragon Ball. Do they think the Japanese are not good enough or what exactly?

I love America, it’s politics, freedom, people. But what happened to those anime shows and games is not acceptable, even Studio Ghibli, the legendary anime producers had the same problem with Disney. Miramax co-chairman Harvey Weinstein suggested editing Princess Mononoke to make it more marketable. In response, a Studio Ghibli producer sent an authentic katana with a simple message: “No cuts”.

I’m against all this franchise selling, editing, cuts, name changing and Japanese identity erasing that Hollywood is doing to anime and Japanese games. I wish it would stop as soon as possible.

    • I understand .. It hardly ever works out whether it is games into movies or vice versa.

You’re maybe right on the whole franchise selling and Japanese identity erasing. But I guess that’s between Hollywood and Japan.

I for one think it’s nice to have a movie of a game we really love! The idea is awesome .. I just hope that they do not mess this movie/story up!

    • I agree completely. I’m tired of wanting to see something I’ve loved for so long brought to a bigger medium only to be totally disappointed. I would have loved to actually go and enjoy something like Dragonball and Tekken on the big screen but I don’t even want to waste my time downloading them. It’s so sad and depressing that they don’t get the fact that this is a let down for SO many people. I wish it would stop too.
